The following list ranks the movie stars according to their actual star power in 2000 or how well their pictures performed at the box office, and not according to the puff pieces so common in the media. The Bankability 101 rating is based primarily on opening weekend and total gross averages. Secondary considerations include number of pictures and supporting roles. To be eligible, an actor/actress has to have received top, above-the-title billing on at least one release that opened wide in calendar year 2000. The top star receives a 100-point rating, with the rest a percentage of that. Only domestic grosses are counted at this time since many pictures have yet to extensively play overseas. Please keep in mind that this list is not necessarily indicative of overall bankability, and that it is not about acting ability.
