WB Moves 2011 Comedies
This afternoon, Warner Bros. Pictures adjusted the dates for three of their 2011 comedies (Horrible Bosses, Crazy, Stupid, Love., and Something Borrowed), while adding the Arthur remake to the schedule.

Steve Carell comedy Crazy, Stupid, Love. has moved from April 22 to July 29, where it will face off against comic book adaptation Cowboys & Aliens. This is almost exactly the same date as Carell's last comedy, Dinner for Schmucks, which earned $73 million. As a result of this change, Warner Bros. has removed dark comedy Horrible Bosses from that day, and now has it listed as an undated Summer 2011 release. It could end up in June, where only one other comedy is currently scheduled, though that may be viewed as too close to the studio's big comedy The Hangover 2 (May 26).

Arthur, which stars Russell Brand as the titular character and Helen Mirren as his mother, is now scheduled for April 8. The original Arthur earned $95.5 million, or nearly $260 million adjusted for ticket price inflation, and ranked as the fourth-highest grossing movie from 1981. The new version opens opposite Rio, Your Highness and Hanna.

Warner Bros. also moved Something Borrowed from June 10 to May 6. Starring Ginnifer Goodwin, Kate Hudson and John Krasinski, the romantic comedy will square off against Marvel's Thor and comedy Jumping the Broom.

Earlier this week, Warner Bros. announced that Clash of the Titans 2 (in 3D) would be released Mar. 30, 2012, nearly two years after it unleashed Clash of the Titans (2010).
